Truth Tells Itself
Truth is smooth like silk and clear as a river.
It doesn't wrap its arms around you, but vibrates from deep within you. It calls to you as clearly as the wolf cries to the moon. Truth doesn't fit into your back pocket, or smashed down under piles of paper. Truth beckons you to take its hand and jump into the abyss only to find that truth had you all along. It is that split second before you persuaded yourself to change your mind and go against it. It is that resting place you have been looking for. There is no need to coax truth or tell it boastful stories of who you are and what you've accomplished. Truth already knows your beauty, truth never forgot. Truth speaks louder than words; it is in every cell of your body. When you melt into truths presence you feel alive, you vibrate, your cells dance and encourage more and more partnership with truth. Truth is what calls you home. Truth tells itself. The mountainsIn mountains cold with lonely paths
Where fear still followed sorrow The light of love came into view My heart longed for tomorrow I sent it forth with warmth and hope To face it’s certain capture And find a home where love could grow For all the days ever after It found the treasure it had sought In mountains warm and green A love more sweet and beautiful Than any I had dreamed. 17 march 98 D K Carkit Angels of GodAngels of God are calling you
Are you listening? Angels of God are near you. Can you feel their breath in your ear and feel the tickle of their feathers on your face? Hear them calling your name? Angels of God are with you when you feel alone with blue eyes bright and yellow light pink hearts that glow and beat gently through the night of the soul and through the dark there is light Angels of God are surrounding you See them with newly opened eyes feel them with a new awareness that you didn't know was there in your heart and in your soul--they are there, they are there... Angels of God are keeping you safe, lighting the way, guiding you, leading you to a new truth of your purpose here on earth where you can live in peace and love and harmony and experience and live each moment in a new found way They want you to know that the light of God is within you Look inside and you will see the flame that's there to guide you, comfort you, and when you see it, you will be forever changed. Angels of God are with you each and every day. |
Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight. I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there - I do not die. The Inner Light
Let the inner light shine in my life once more
Let it burn in my heart as it did before; Let it be a beacon in a world forlorn, A world in trouble, a world that is torn. Let me touch the heart of all who comes my way, Those that I see will have a brighter and happier day. Let them see the wonders, the magic that each day can bring, Let them experience and feel the majesty and the power of God within. Let each new day be an adventure in the journey we all take, Let them walk in the light and in the fullness of God partake. Let them be a beacon for the entire world to see, Then the world will be a wonderful place, a world in harmony. The Inner LightLet the inner light shine in my life once more

Each day just passed me by Then one day I saw your Face I thought that I would cry Into my life, you brought love Something so brand new It made my heart burst into song My broken heart had found a home Now the years are passing My love for you has grown For now that we’re together I know I’m not alone. 17 march 98 D K Carkit |
My Younger DaysWhen I was in my younger days,
I weighed a few pounds less, I needn't hold my tummy in to wear a belted dress. But now that I am older, I've set my body free; There's the comfort of elastic Where once my waist would be. Inventor of those high-heeled shoes My feet have not forgiven; I have to wear a nine now, But used to wear a seven. And how about those pantyhose- They're sized by weight, you see, So how come when I put them on The crotch is at my knee? I need to wear these glasses As the print's been getting smaller; And it wasn't very long ago I know that I was taller. Though my hair has turned to grey and my skin no longer fits, On the inside, I'm the same old me, It's the outside's changed a bit. |
Mirror, mirror on the wallMirror, mirror on the wall
Do you have to tell it all? Where do you get the glaring right to make my clothes look just too tight? I think I'm fine but I can see you won't cooperate with me; The way you let the shadows play You'd think my hair was getting grey What's that, you say? A double chin? No, that's the way the light comes in; If you persist in peering so You'll confiscate my facial glow, And then if you're not hanging straight You'll tell me next I'm gaining weight; I'm really quite upset with you For giving this distorted view; I hate you being smug and wise O, look what's happened to my thighs! I warn you now, O mirrored wall, since we're not on speaking terms at all, if I look like this in my new jeans you'll find yourself in smithereens!! |
